Bitdeer mined 2,694 BTC in Q2 2026; its self-mining hashrate rose to 69.5 EH/s

How the news developed

Bitdeer mined 2,694 BTC in the second quarter of 2026, almost five times the 565 BTC of Q2 2025, according to its quarterly report. Average self-mining hashrate for the period rose 389% to 69.5 EH/s, and the company closed the period with 150 BTC on its balance sheet, after liquidating 943 BTC from the corporate reserve in February. More detail and the full operational table are available in the company's report and in Cointelegraph's analysis: Bitdeer's Q2 report and the analysis by Cointelegraph.

Bitdeer reported total Q2 revenue of $228.8 million, a gross loss of $8.5 million and a net loss of $92.3 million, while revenue from self-mining rose to $168.4 million from $59.3 million a year earlier. The company also reported adjusted EBITDA of $31.1 million.

What it means for mining hardware and operators

The growth in output is directly tied to the expansion of its own fleet and hashrate: Bitdeer points to a significant increase in the number of mining machines and to better energy efficiency in its operational table. The higher self-mining hashrate turned the installed machines into a direct source of revenue, but the greater electricity consumption and corporate costs were not enough to avoid the net loss.

Liquidating 943 BTC in February turned reserves into liquidity for stated priorities — acquiring powered sites, expanding data centers and developing AI and hardware — but it also reduced the buffer against a fall in the price of BTC. Bitminers assessment: that decision makes operating costs, the efficiency of the mining hardware and the price of electricity even more critical to operators' survival and investment decisions.

The short lesson for buyers of mining hardware is clear: even with a sharp increase in output, capital decisions and liquidity management can shape the financial result as strongly as hash power itself.
